Departments Profile

1. Information and Computer Studies department

The department has 2 teachers and every teacher has responsibility to do based on the departmental requirements.

The ICS  is a subject introduced at Msalato secondary school for ordinary level students since April 2015 with form one class. Currently, the department has 2 teachers, Mr. Daudi Stephen Chitema as the Head of Department and Mr. Salum Saidi Balila.

In our interconnected world, knowledge and information are becoming a cornerstone for the development of a society. The Information and Computer Studies is governed by the overall objectives of education policies, ICS syllabus of 2005 and relevant national development policies including the Tanzania National ICT policy of 2003.

Nowadays there is a big challenge of ICT skills in job industry, the demand in the world of globalization rise to the extent that the schools should introduce the subject to fill the gap. 

Since ICT is a cross-cutting tool, the school shall strive to equip students with the skills by applying principles, knowledge, and skills of information technology in daily life for solve problems using computers. However, to use information and communication technologies in data and information processing. 

Departmental responsibilities

• Mr. Daudi Stephen Chitema. He is the Head of ICS department.
• Mr. Salum Saidi Balila. He is teaching Information and Computer Studies(ICS) in form one to form three classes

2. Chemistry department

In this department has 3 teachers.

Departmental responsibilities.

• Ms. Upendo Kipuyo. She is the head of the chemistry department. She is also teaching form four and one classes.
• Mr. Nassoro Ramadhan Amani. He is currently teaching form six classes
• Mr. Stanley Kapange. He is teaching form five classes.

3. Geography department.

The department has 4 teachers and every teacher has responsibility to do based on the departmental requirements

• Mr. Ramadhan M. Ramadhan. He is the head of the geography department. He is teaching A' level classes.
• Mr. Daudi Stephen Chitema. He is teaching form four and A' level classes.
• Ms. Oliver Thomas. She is teaching form one and two classes
• Ms. Jackline Munisi. She is currently teaching form three classes.

4. Physics department.

In this department has 4 teachers.

Departmental responsibilities

• Ms. Mwashamba Magulumali. She is the Head of physics department. currently teaching form five classes.
• Faraja Isdori Buhatwa. He is currently teaching form six classes.
• Mr. Godfrey Mseti is teaching form four classes.
• Ms. Atupokile Mwakatobe is currently teaching form one classes.

5. Mathematics department

In this department has  5 teachers.

Departmental responsibilities

• Mr. Phanuel P. Lissu. He is the Head of the mathematics department. Is teaching mathematics in form one B and advanced maths for form six classes.
• Mr. Abubakari A. Mkande. He is teaching form one A and advanced maths (form five classes).
• Mr. Peter Mabamba. He is teaching form two and three classes (basic maths).
• Mr. Issa Harubu. He is currently teaching form four and form six classes (BAM)
• Atupokile Mwakatobe. She is teaching form five classes (BAM)

6. Biology department

The department has 4 teachers.

Departmental responsibilities

• Mr. Seth Mwilongo. He is Head of Biology department. He is also teaching form three and A' level classes (form six)
• Mr. Wodrick Bukuku. He is teaching A' level classes (form five)
• Ms. Fedel Katindasa she is currently teaching form one and four classes.
• Ms. Lucy Ngayega. She is teaching form two classes

7. Kiswahili department

It has 2 teachers.

Departmental responsibilities

• Ms. Rhoda I. Mbalani. She is currently teaching Kiswahili in form two and four classes. She is also head of Kiswahili department
• Mr. Adam Athuman. He is teaching  Kiswahili in form one and three classes. 

8. History department

The department comprises with 5 teachers.

Departmental responsibilities

• Ms. Rhoda C. Mzunde. She is teaching form one and form two classes. She is also a Head of History department.
• Ms. Sara Shao. She is teaching form four classes.
• Ms. Linda Zeramula. She is teaching form three classes.
• Ms. Veronica Mkuchu. He is teaching A' level classes (history II). 
• Mr. Joshua E. Nassari. He is teaching A' level classes (history I). 

9. Civics department

The department has 2 teachers

Departmental responsibilities

• Ms. Faith William. He is Head of Civics department. She is teaching form one and form two classes.
• Ms. Sarah Modestus. She is teaching form three and four classes.

10. Home economics department

The department has 2 teachers

Departmental responsibilities

• Ms. Fatuma S. Mchome. She is Head of Home Economics department. She is also teaching form three and four classes
• Ms. Dorah J. Sanga. She is teaching form one and two classes. 

11. English department

The English department has 5 teachers.

Departmental responsibilities

• Ms. Judith Mwaitulo. Head of the department of English. She is teaching form three (literature in english) and english language in A' level classes (form five and six).
• Ms. Firimina Burreta is teaching A' level classes (form five and six)
• Ms. Anna Nadula. She is teaching form one and two classes.
• Mr. Maulid Abdallah. Is currently teaching form three classes and literature in english (form four classes)
• Mr. Chacha N.Masubo. He is teaching form four classes.

12. General studies department

The General studies department has 2 teachers

Departmental responsibilities

• Mr. Abdurahman Dinya. He is Head of the department also is teaching A 'Level classes.
• Mr. Michael Kihengu. He is teaching A 'Level classes.
